Cultivating a Beloved Community at Geneseo: What Do We Need?
Conceptualized by Philosophy Professor, Josiah Royce, and embodied by Civil Rights Activist, Martin Luther King, Jr., the vision of a “beloved community” has and continues to inspire many. While definitions of a beloved community are vast and varied, what they share is a commitment to care, compassion, justice, equity, and belonging. This dialogue will invite us to explore the question "what do we need" to cultivate a beloved community at Geneseo?
