Enhancing Exam Security with Respondus Tools: LockDown Browser & Monitor
About this Event
Many faculty already know LockDown Browser (LDB) - a custom browser that secures the testing environment in Brightspace by preventing printing, copying, accessing other applications, or searching the internet during online exams.
This Spring, we’re excited to pilot Respondus Monitor, a leading remote proctoring solution for higher education. Monitor uses a student’s webcam to record the exam session, giving instructors access to flagged events and detailed proctoring results for review.
Setup is simple: after a quick one-time installation, Monitor launches from the student’s preferred browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) whenever exam settings require it. Students are guided through a pre-exam sequence, including a webcam check, and advanced options allow faculty to permit tools like Excel and Word during exams.
Join us to learn how these tools can help maintain academic integrity while supporting flexibility for students.
PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE for this virtual session using this form from Respondus.
