DESCRIPTION:Join the Geneseo Wind Quintet in Doty Recital Hall on Sunday af
 ternoon\, November 13\, at 3:00pm for a concert of sparkling quintet music!
 \n\n We kick off the night with Jacques Ibert’s Trois Pièces Brèves\, a viv
 acious classic of the wind quintet repertoire. Next\, Maurice Ravel’s Le To
 mbeau de Couperin pays homage to Baroque dance-suite sensibilities in delic
 ate early 20th-century French style. Originally written for piano and trans
 cribed by the composer for orchestra\, the piece suits the wind quintet bea
 utifully in an arrangement by Mason Jones. Robert Muczynski’s cinematic Qui
 ntet for Winds follows\, with its high-energy outer movements framing a lil
 ting\, off-balance Andante. Finally\, we round out the program with the gor
 geous Milonga Sin Palabras (“milonga without words”) by Argentinean “Nuevo 
 tango” innovator Astor Piazzolla\, arranged for wind quintet by William Scr
 ibner.\n\n The concert is free and open to the public.
