GOLD: Finding Your Place in Civic and Community Engagement

Civic and Community Engagement is an active form of leadership for the common good. This, the second in the series of required Diamond Certificate Workshops, will explores your strengths, interests, skills, and ideals and how you can apply those to a range of community engagement activities and approaches.

In this worshop we will discuss philanthropy, direct service, advocacy, and capacity building, along with what it means to be a member, a volunteer, or a supporter of an organization or community. This conceptual framework for community service will help you narrow your thinking on how, and in what focus areas, you’d like to engage with the community.

We will also explore ways you can get involved in the campus community, the Village and Town of Geneseo, the greater Livingston and Monroe County region, and beyond.
