The Pre-Law Advisement Program announces an extension to this year’s Jane Ryan Pre-Law Scholarships for pre-law students planning to graduate in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022. The award amount has now increased to $1000, and we have the opportunity this year to award an additional three scholarships.

Please see below for application instructions. Pre-law students who plan to graduate in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 are eligible. All applications will be due by Monday, 27 September 2021.

 Jane Aschenbrenner Ryan ’74 Annual Scholarship: Official Description


A $1000 scholarship for a student entering his/her junior or senior year with proven financial need to help defray the costs of applying for admission to law school. This scholarship is supported by Jane Aschenbrenner Ryan, Esq.,  Class of 1974.

 

GENESEO PRE-LAW SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS


Pre-law students graduating in either Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 are encouraged to apply for the Jane Ryan Scholarship. Please submit all required forms in email attachments and send to Dr Graham N. Drake at drake@geneseo.edu .

For each scholarship application, please attach the following:

1. A Word document containing the following information: the name of the scholarship you are applying for, your name, G-number, and anticipated month and year of graduation.

2. A current unofficial Geneseo transcript. (Contact the Office of the Registrar if you require any assistance with this step.)


3. A one-page statement about your plans for law school and your purpose for studying law.

4. Proof that you are receiving financial aid based on economic need (rather than merit-based scholarships). Please consult the Financial Aid Office to obtain an official statement certifying that you are receiving such aid.

 SUBMIT COMPLETE APPLICATIONS BY MONDAY, 27 SEPTEMBER 2021.
