About this Event
Meaningful assessment is difficult enough without trying to do it in the middle of a global pandemic that’s forced us and our students almost entirely online. But meaningful assessment has also never been as urgent as it is in our current moment. If we think of assessment as simply telling the story of student learning, we need to make sure that we’re telling our story well so others aren’t telling it for us. How can we use assessment--done organically, meaningfully, and well--to advocate for ourselves and our students in a post-Covid landscape? What stories do we want to tell, and to whom should we be telling them? This session will frame assessment as a hopeful, process-oriented activity and suggest strategies for individual faculty and programs to use in our changed learning environment.
