Presented by Geneseo Hillel, Music Society of Geneseo, and Alumni of the Eastman School of Music.

This program will feature a varied music of Jewish composers interspersed with short poetry readings. It will highlight the Yiddish language in particular with a selection of songs
and the brief choral work “Treist” (’Consolation’) by Leo Rosenbluth, who set words to music by the celebrated Yiddish language author and playwright Isaac Leib Peretz (1852-1915) from
Poland.
SUNY Geneseo student, Hannah Lieberman, who is a voice major and a senior, will be a featured singer and is the great-great niece of the composer, Isaac Leib Peretz.
