Safe Zone is a 3-hour workshop meant to offer the basics of LGBTQ+ identities and specific strategies to become a better ally to to make your classroom and/or office a more welcoming and inclusive space to our queer students and colleagues. The workshop will be co-facilitated by a faculty member and a student leader and is highly interactive. The emphasis is on discussion and process over content; at the conclusion of the workshop participants will receive a sticker - appropriate for your office door, laptop, etc. that sends a wordless signal to viewers of your willingness to listen and refer. Best practices ask folks to repeat this training every 3 years as terminology and relevant issues change and shift. RSVP is required and can be done here.
