Page to Stage:Peter and The Starcatcher
Geneseo musical theatre students are delighted to be working together in person to tell the prequel story to Peter Pan, Peter and the Starcatcher. Based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatcher is a terrifically theatrical play with music written by Rick Elice, and music by West Bloomfield, NY’s own Wayne Barker.
Featuring fourteen performers who portray over 100 characters, our production follows in the footsteps of the original Broadway production which was a “deliberately low-budget spectacle: an extravaganza of staging that relied on suggestion and storytelling rather than expensive set pieces like the chandelier in Phantom of the Opera or the helicopter in Miss Saigon…A coming-of-age adventure story about how a nameless orphan -- inspired by a remarkable and ambitious girl -- became the strange and celebrated hero that is the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up.”
Geneseo’s annual Page to Stage production features all upper class majors, who work together and focus on the process of developing characters, working as an ensemble, and involving our audience in a technically minimal but highly engaging production.
The Box office will be open for ticket sales 2 hours before the doors open.
