The Rural/Urban Divide in Contemporary American Politics

On May 1 at 4:00 on Teams Professor Suzanne Mettler will discuss her research on the rural/urban divide in contemporary American Politics. The divide between Americans living in rural areas and those residing in urban areas has grown significantly during the past 2 decades. Dr. Mettler will present her research on why this divide has grown so sharply in recent times. Suzanne Mettler, the John L. Senior Professor of American Institutions, conducts research and teaches on American political development, inequality, public policy, political behavior, and democracy. She is the author of numerous books and articles on American Politics.
