TLC Campus Conversation: AI & Academic Honesty: Policies, Pedagogy, and Prevention
About this Event
This TLC session will explore how generative AI is reshaping long-standing understandings of academic honesty in higher education. Together, we will examine emerging challenges—such as AI-assisted writing, unauthorized use, and detection concerns—while also considering what strategies you're engaging in to reduce misconduct through course redesign and clear communication tactics.
Guided by Bowen & Watson's Teaching With AI (2nd ed.), we'll evaluate "low effort cheating interventions." Participants will leave with concrete ideas for aligning policy, pedagogy, and prevention in ways that prioritize learning while upholding academic integrity.
This conversation is timed to align with your mid-term class experiences, and to allow you time for reflection and engagement with strategies of your choice after Spring Break.
